Lolita Wells, aged 46, was tragically killed on September 28, 2015, in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood. The shooting occurred as part of a drive-by incident that also took the life of her 24-year-old daughter, Patricia Chew, while a young child and two men were wounded. The violent attack, which took place while the family was on their porch, left the community shocked and spurred calls for justice.
