In the autumn of 2018, a young man's life was tragically cut short in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C. On the morning of October 11, police responded to a report of a shooting and discovered 27-year-old Roderick Thomas inside a vehicle, unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds.
