In the early morning hours of July 27, 2015, the life of 16-year-old Javeion Willoughby, a Black male, was cut short in North Las Vegas, Nevada. The teenager was discovered inside a residence on the 1100 block of Gary Carmena Avenue, near Azure Avenue and North Fifth Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical responders were called to the scene around 2:30 a.m., but Willoughby was pronounced dead at the home.
