In the summer of 2022, the life of Tiffany Nicole Kerlee, a 27-year-old female serving in the United States Navy, was tragically cut short in what authorities have described as a murder-suicide. On July 25, 2022, Fallon Police were called to conduct a welfare check at a residence in Fallon, Nevada. Upon entering the home, they discovered the bodies of Tiffany and a fellow sailor, Anthony Kent Mustizer, also 27.
The investigation, conducted by the Fallon Police Department with assistance
from the Washoe County Crime Lab, concluded that Mustizer shot and killed Tiffany before turning the gun on himself. Both were residents of Fallon and worked at the Naval Air Station Fallon. Tiffany's parents revealed that she and Mustizer had been in a relationship, and that they had treated him like a son. The news came as a devastating shock to her family, who described her as a strong, independent, and witty individual.
At the time of her death, Tiffany was just two months away from leaving the military. She had aspirations of securing a government position and pursuing a college degree. Originally from Soledad, California, she had joined the Navy at the age of 17 and had served for several years, reenlisting to continue her career in Fallon. There have been no other suspects or arrests in connection with her death.
