On an autumn evening in Durango, Colorado, the life of John Till Burnite, a White male, was tragically cut short. On October 6, 1975, Mr. Burnite had just pulled into the driveway of his La Plata County residence. As he sat in the driver's seat of his pickup truck, an unknown assailant fired a shot, ending his life.
