In the early morning hours of Christmas Day, 1985, a dispute in the area of the 800 block of East 26th Avenue in Denver, Colorado, ended in the tragic death of 34-year-old Darrell Gammon. Gammon, a Black male, was shot during the altercation.

Police and paramedics were dispatched to the scene, and Gammon was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on December 25, 1985. The incident ...
