In the late summer of 1988, the life of Myron Dawson, a 35-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in Denver, Colorado. On August 21st, he was discovered inside his residence located in the 2900 block of Marion Street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services transported him to Denver General Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died later that day.
The circumstances surrounding his death pointed to a homicide, prompting an investigation by the
Denver Police Department. Despite their efforts, the case grew cold over the years, with no suspects publicly identified or arrested in connection with the shooting. The investigation into who was responsible for Myron Dawson's death remains open, and his case is now considered a cold case.
Authorities have periodically asked for the public's help for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the decades-old mystery. A reward has been offered for information that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible for his murder, but to date, no one has been brought to justice, leaving his family and community without answers.
