In the afternoon of September 22, 2015, tragedy struck at a local convenience store in Denver, Colorado, claiming the life of 28-year-old Sergio Crandon Evelyn-Moe, a Black / African American male. The incident unfolded at Jenny's Market, where gunfire erupted, leaving three individuals shot. Evelyn-Moe and another man, Travis Kimbrough-Sanders, succumbed to their injuries, while a juvenile male who was also wounded was expected to survive.
