On July 1, 2017, a tragic incident occurred at the intersection of 29th Avenue and York Street in Denver, Colorado, resulting in the deaths of two men, including 40-year-old Troy Funchess. The shooting took place around midnight, with neighbors reporting the sound of two shots followed by the sight of a red sedan speeding away westbound on 29th Avenue.
