Ian Blair, a 5-year-old male child from north Phoenix, Arizona, whose race and ethnicity were listed in public records as unknown, was injured on Sunday, May 18, 2014, while being cared for at home and died from those injuries on May 21, 2014. That weekend, his mother left him, his 3-year-old sister, and his 4-month-old sibling in the care of 16-year-old Justin Hoskins, the teenage son of her live-in boyfriend, who routinely babysat the children while the adults were at work.
