In the late hours of a Monday evening in December 2017, the quiet of an unincorporated Arapahoe County area was broken by the sound of gunshots. Deputies from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office were nearby on an unrelated matter around 11 p.m. in the vicinity of 9100 East Florida Avenue when they heard the shots ring out. Their immediate search of the area led them to a grim discovery in a parking lot.
