In the summer of 2019, the life of Alexander Vogel, a 37-year-old male, came to a tragic end in Loveland, Colorado. A self-employed artist and a veteran who had served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division in Iraq, he was known for his creativity and his service to his country.
On July 23, 2019, a confrontation with law enforcement unfolded at a residence in Loveland.
Larimer County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the location to serve a court-ordered eviction notice. During this interaction, it is alleged that Vogel brandished a rifle. This action led to a standoff, and the deployment of a SWAT team to the scene.
The situation did not de-escalate, and during the course of the standoff, Alexander Vogel died. His death was subsequently determined to be a suicide. In the aftermath of the event, there was no indication of any other individuals being sought in connection with his death, and therefore no arrests were made or suspects named.
