He was discovered deceased inside a residence located in the 4500 block of West 2nd Avenue in the city's Barnum West neighborhood. The cause of his death was determined to be a gunshot wound, and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
At the time of the incident, Denver Police officers responded to a death investigation at the location at approximately 1:06 p.m.
Originally from Westlake, Louisiana, Jacob, affectionately known as 'Jake,' was a former student of McNeese State University. His love for the outdoors and adventure had drawn him back to Denver just a few months before his death. Friends and family remember him as a man with a huge heart who was incapable of seeing the bad in anyone. He had a passion for hiking in the Colorado mountains, attending concerts, and exploring nature. Prior to his return to Denver, he had also pursued a career in modeling.
As of now, the investigation into Jacob Brady's murder remains ongoing, and no arrests have been made. There are currently no publicly identified suspects in connection with his death. In an effort to generate leads, a substantial reward has been offered for any information that leads to the identification and apprehension of the person or persons responsible for his death. The reward, which has been increased multiple times through donations from family, friends, and anonymous donors, now stands at up to $30,000. The Denver Police Department, along with Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, continues to appeal to the public for assistance in solving this case.
