On April 23, 2015, 16-year-old Amari Sutton was fatally shot in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. Sutton was found with gunshot wounds to his chest and neck in the 1400 block of East 73rd Street. His death was one of several tragic incidents involving young people caught in the cycle of violence in Chicago at the time.
