On July 16, 1989, 18-year-old Kaitlyn Arquette, the daughter of thriller writer Lois Duncan, was shot to death in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kaitlyn was driving home from a friend's house when the incident occurred. She was shot near the intersection of Lomas and Broadway and succumbed to her injuries the next day.
