In the late summer of 1997, a party on Mayflower Road SW in Albuquerque turned tragic, forever altering the lives of many. On the night of August 31st, amidst what should have been a festive gathering, 18-year-old Hispanic/Latino male Rocky Venegas was shot. The joyous sounds of the party were shattered by the violence that erupted, leaving a young man's life hanging in the balance.
