In the winter of 1999, the life of Fernando Pedroso, a 39-year-old Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in Albuquerque, New Mexico. On the evening of December 20th, deputies were called to a residence at 3313 La Junta SW following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Pedroso's body. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, which were determined to be the cause of his death.
The initial investigation into the shooting sought to piece together
the events that led to this violent encounter. Authorities worked to identify any potential witnesses and gather evidence from the scene. The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear, leaving a void of information for both law enforcement and the community. Despite the efforts of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, the case grew cold as leads became exhausted.
