On a late Sunday morning in June of 2014, the life of 16-year-old Victor Vialpando, a Hispanic male, was cut short in a parking lot in Española, New Mexico. The events of June 8th unfolded when Española police officers Jeremy Apodaca and Ritchie Trujillo responded to a call about a suspicious person near Riverside Drive and Corlett Road just before 11 a.m. Upon their arrival, they encountered Victor.
