On August 25, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Hobbs, New Mexico, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including 18-year-old Khalil Carter. Khalil Carter, a resident of Hobbs, was one of the victims in a fatal shooting that also claimed the lives of 24-year-old Kristal Avena of Hobbs and 22-year-old Lamar Lee Kane Jr. of Washington, D.C..
