On a Tuesday evening in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the life of a Hispanic man, 51-year-old Javier Solis-Marrufo, was tragically cut short in a violent encounter at a gas station. On March 17, 2020, what began as a routine stop for fuel descended into a fatal confrontation that unfolded in the presence of his own son. An argument erupted between Solis-Marrufo and another individual, quickly escalating to a horrifying conclusion.
The other man, identified as 30-year-old Mark Bentacu, pulled out a handgun and fired, striking Solis-Marrufo.
