In the late hours of a Friday night in August 2017, the life of Mark Mayweather, a 29-year-old Black / African American man from Springfield, Massachusetts, was tragically cut short. On August 25, 2017, police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Mayweather suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Baystate Medical Center, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
