On a spring night in Boston, the life of 53-year-old Kevin Boyd, a Black male from Roxbury, was tragically cut short. In the late hours of Saturday, April 13, 2019, Boyd and another man, Michael Dukes, also 53, of Hyde Park, were found on Violet Street in the Mattapan neighborhood, both suffering from gunshot wounds. First responders rushed the two men to local hospitals, but their injuries proved fatal, and both were pronounced dead.
