In the early morning hours of June 23, 2020, a young Black / African American man named Malik Gabbidon, 19, was fatally shot in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The incident occurred around 1:51 a.m. in the vicinity of 26 Thane Street, where police responded to a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers found Gabbidon suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
