In the summer of 2020, the life of 47-year-old Migdalia Perez, a Hispanic female from Gardner, Massachusetts, was brought to a tragic and abrupt end. On the afternoon of Saturday, August 8th, Gardner Police received a 911 call that led them to an apartment building at 206 Central Street. There, in the hallway outside of a third-floor apartment where Perez resided, they discovered her and a man, both of whom had sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The man found with Perez was identified as 49-year-old Jose Munez Badillo. According to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office, the incident is being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide. Prior to the discovery of their bodies, witnesses in the building reported hearing a heated argument between Perez and Badillo.
Investigators determined that Perez lived in the apartment building where the incident took place, while Badillo resided on Prospect Street. The investigation into the deaths of Migdalia Perez and Jose Munez Badillo was conducted by both the Gardner Police and the Massachusetts State Police. No arrests were made as the case was determined to be a murder-suicide, with Badillo suspected of killing Perez before taking his own life.
