On January 24, 2009, Martha Paz De Noboa, a 17-year-old Peruvian exchange student, tragically lost her life in a shooting incident outside an underage nightclub in Portland, Oregon. De Noboa was part of an international exchange program and was staying with a host family in White Salmon, Washington.
