In the early morning hours of January 28, 2021, the life of 24-year-old Hispanic/Latina Christina Gomez was tragically cut short in the St. Johns neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. Responding to reports of gunfire in the 9500 block of North Buchanan Avenue at 4:38 a.m., North Precinct officers discovered Gomez deceased at the scene. Paramedics confirmed her death, and what began as a shooting call quickly escalated into a homicide investigation.
