In the late summer evening of August 28, 2012, a routine traffic stop on Interstate 79 in Clay County, West Virginia, tragically escalated, leading to the death of 26-year-old White/Caucasian male, West Virginia State Trooper Eric Michael Workman. He and his partner, Corporal Marshall Bailey, pulled over a vehicle for reckless driving at a park-and-ride in Wallback. The driver was identified as Luke Baber, who was determined to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested.
