In the spring of 2020, fourteen-year-old Jonathan "Johnny" Adams, a male, left his home in Connecticut to stay with relatives on a family farm in Augusta, West Virginia. The move was intended to be a safe retreat from the burgeoning coronavirus pandemic. Johnny, who had just graduated from King Philip Middle School, was described as a happy kid with a smile that could light up a room.
