In the early spring of 2022, the community of Mason, West Virginia, was unsettled by the discovery of a young man's body, leading to a homicide investigation that would cross state lines. John Michael Gomez, a 30-year-old Caucasian male, was found deceased on March 8, 2022, at a residence on Carson Road.
