In the spring of 2013, the life of Kenyatta Davontae Taylor, a 20-year-old Black or African American man from Des Moines, Iowa, was tragically cut short. On April 14, he was discovered with gunshot wounds behind an apartment building in the city. Rushed to Iowa Methodist Medical Center for emergency care, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, on April 15, 2013.
