In the quiet community of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a domestic tragedy unfolded on January 30, 2014, ending the life of 73-year-old Linda Jane Huber, a white female. The devastating event, rooted in a domestic dispute, also resulted in the deaths of her daughter and son-in-law.
On that Thursday morning, events escalated to a horrific climax when Linda's son-in-law, Robert Drew Livingston, 47, took violent action.
He fatally shot both his estranged wife, Ingrid Huber Livingston, 41, and her mother, Linda Jane Huber. The incident occurred at Linda's residence, where her daughter and two granddaughters had recently moved in. After committing the murders, Livingston then took his own life.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 6:39 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the three deceased individuals. She was a proud mother of five children and had a 20-year professional career with the Iowa Department of Human Services in Scott County after her children were grown. She was an active member of her church and enjoyed playing bells for the United Methodist Church of Mt. Vernon.
