Shawn Michael North, a 45-year-old resident of Waterloo, Iowa, passed away on August 30, 2016, due to complications arising from a shooting that occurred 15 years earlier. On May 21, 2001, around 1:35 a.m., North was shot in the 1200 block of Doreen Avenue in Waterloo. This incident left him a paraplegic, and he lived with the consequences of the shooting for over a decade before his death.
