The narrative began to unfold on December 12, when police discovered the body of 51-year-old Natasha Lue Jean Williams during a welfare check at a home on Glenwood Drive.
Her death was ruled a homicide, prompting an immediate and intensive investigation by the Des Moines Police Department. As detectives began to piece together the events leading to Williams' death, Scott L. Lowery emerged as a person of interest, not as a suspect, but as a material witness who they believed held critical information.
A public call for assistance was made on December 13, as authorities sought to locate Lowery. They released his description and details of his blue 2006 Jeep Commander, hoping for a lead that would aid their investigation into Williams' death.
