In the pre-dawn hours of September 1, 2013, a sense of duty led 32-year-old Caucasian male, Sergeant Derek Ray Johnson, to a strangely parked vehicle on a quiet street in Draper, Utah. What began as a routine check on a seemingly disabled car would, in moments, escalate into a tragedy that would stun the community.
