Frank Wynn Bringard, a 76-year-old White male, was a quiet and gentle man, known for his honesty, strong work ethic, and talent as a master leather worker. He had served in the United States Army and spent his career as a professional truck driver. His life, however, came to a tragic and abrupt end on the night of Sunday, April 14, 2019, in his Delta, Utah home.
That evening, a distressing call was made to the Millard County Sheriff's Office at approximately 10:35 p.m.
The caller was John Peck, Bringard's 63-year-old brother, who stated that he had shot his brother and required assistance. When deputies arrived at the residence located at 98 West 1000 North, they found an emotional Peck outside the home and took him into custody. Inside, they discovered Frank Wynn Bringard deceased on the living room floor from a gunshot wound.
The dispute that led to this fatal encounter reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over property titles. Peck informed investigators that he and his brother had been arguing, and he believed his brother was being dishonest with him about the properties. This argument escalated, resulting in the shooting. Following his arrest, John Peck was charged with first-degree felony murder. In the subsequent legal proceedings, a judge ordered a mental evaluation for Peck, indicating the possibility of an insanity defense.
