Francis Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, marking the city's eighth homicide of the year.
Known as a jokester who loved to make people laugh, Callabrass was a recent graduate of Opportunity High School, where he excelled as an honor student in math. He had a passion for motorcycles and dirt bikes and was working towards becoming a licensed mechanic. Remembered for his big smile, he was a beloved son, brother, and friend to many in his community. His death left his family and friends heartbroken, grappling with the sudden and violent loss of a young man with a bright future ahead of him.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Hartford police launched an investigation into Callabrass's death.
