On a summer afternoon in Vernon, Connecticut, a dispute over a ten-dollar pool pass at a local motel escalated into a fatal encounter that claimed the life of 30-year-old Zeshan Chaudhry. The Asian American motel owner was shot and killed on June 27, 2021, following a heated argument with a guest at the Motel 6 he operated on Hartford Turnpike. Chaudhry, who was engaged to be married, was remembered by his family as a peaceful and fun-loving man who was excited about his future.
