Tony Saffore, a 28-year-old transgender individual, was killed on September 11, 2016, in Chicago's Garfield Park neighborhood. Known as T.T. Saffore by friends and family, Tony's body was found with the throat cut and a knife nearby. This brutal act marked Saffore as the 20th reported transgender person murdered in the United States in 2016, highlighting the ongoing crisis of violence against transgender individuals in America, particularly transgender women of color.
