In a heart-wrenching turn of events that crossed state lines, 44-year-old Tumetheus Levastavian Pack was discovered deceased near Prescott, Arkansas, from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. His death marked the grim conclusion of a police search that began after the mother of his child was found dead in Texas.
The series of events was set into motion when an Amber Alert was issued for 14-month-old Tyemetheus Pack.
The young boy was reported missing from his Houston home where his mother, Angel Jackson, 26, was found deceased. Concerns for Jackson's welfare grew after she sent a text message on Christmas Eve stating she had been shot. Authorities quickly identified Tumetheus Levastavian Pack, the child's father, as a person of interest in the case.
Law enforcement tracked Pack to Arkansas, where he was spotted in a vehicle. When police attempted to pull him over on Interstate 30 near Prescott, Pack took his own life. Inside the vehicle, his son, Tyemetheus, was found safe, along with two other children and a woman.
Houston police considered Tumetheus Pack a suspect in the death of Angel Jackson, and their investigation continued following his death. According to Jackson's sister, the couple had a tumultuous relationship, and Jackson had made previous attempts to leave him.
