In the small town of Fouke, Arkansas, a tragic incident cut short the life of 14-year-old Destin Leon Wallace. The white male teenager was at a residence on Highway 71 on the night of Monday, December 19, 2016, when a firearm was discharged. First responders arrived at the home to find the young man in critical condition.
Emergency services quickly arranged for him to be airlifted to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, for urgent medical care.
Despite the efforts of the medical team, Destin Wallace succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 9:30 a.m. the following morning, Tuesday, December 20, 2016.
The Miller County Sheriff's Office immediately launched an investigation into the shooting. Their inquiries revealed that the shooting was accidental. According to reports, a parent at the residence had placed the 911 call, stating that their child had accidentally shot their friend. After a thorough investigation of the scene and circumstances, the authorities officially classified the death as an accidental shooting. Consequently, no arrests were made, and no suspects were named in connection with the incident.
Destin was an eighth-grade student at Fouke Middle School where he was a member of the junior high football team. The community mourned the loss of the young man, who was remembered as a member of the River of Life Worship Center.
