On May 11, 2018, 28-year-old Jenika DyShun 'Nikki' Rankin of Magnolia, Arkansas, was fatally shot at her residence on Columbia Road 30. Emergency responders transported her to Magnolia Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call reporting the shooting. Upon investigation, authorities identified Rankin's boyfriend, Keith Demetrius McBride, as the primary suspect. McBride was arrested and charged with her murder.
