In the late summer of 2020, the life of 18-year-old Kason Keith Porter, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On August 21st, he and his half-brother, Tyson Stewart, were found with fatal gunshot wounds inside a residence on Twin Points Road. When police arrived, Stewart was already deceased, and Porter was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators at the scene discovered evidence of a forced entry into the home, leading
them to initially characterize the event as a home invasion. A search of the residence uncovered drugs, drug paraphernalia, and several firearms. The police reported that both the occupants of the house and Stewart were armed. In the weeks that followed, the Hot Springs Police Department continued their investigation, conducting interviews and awaiting results from the state crime lab. However, no immediate arrests were made in connection with the double homicide.
The family of Kason Porter and Tyson Stewart has publicly questioned the official narrative of a home invasion. They believe the two brothers were lured to the residence under the pretense of a party. The family has maintained that the young men had no history of trouble.
