On December 4, 2020, 16-year-old Daejon Joshua Mitchell was fatally shot in the parking lot of Preston Apartments in Magnolia, Arkansas. He sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to Magnolia Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
