In the quiet neighborhood of West Memphis, Arkansas, the evening of February 8, 2022, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Responding to the alert while conducting a nearby traffic stop, police were drawn to a residence in the 1800 block of McCauley Drive. Inside, they discovered 40-year-old Darvelle Gatewood, a male resident of the city, suffering from a single gunshot wound to his abdomen.
