On November 29, 2024, at approximately 1:29 a.m., the Lubbock Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at CC's Bar and Grill, located at 1605 50th Street in central Lubbock, Texas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 28-year-old Nick Rodela-Garcia with serious injuries. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Investigations revealed that the incident stemmed from a verbal altercation between Rodela-Garcia and another individual, which escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, the other individual produced a firearm and shot Rodela-Garcia.
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Robert Cervantes III, turned himself in to authorities on December 7, 2024. He was charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond.
The Lubbock Police Department's Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is leading the investigation into this fatal shooting. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are seeking information from the public to assist in the case.
