On December 18, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Amsterdam police responded to reports of gunfire near 60 James Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Robert M. Green Jr. lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. Bystanders had initiated life-saving measures before emergency responders took over.
