On June 28, 2023, 18-year-old Gerardo Ismael "Jerry" Olivares Mancha was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting at his home on Private Road 4894B off FM 1413 in southwest Dayton, Texas. At approximately 12:10 a.m., while playing video games in his bedroom, multiple shots were fired into the residence. One bullet penetrated the wall and struck Olivares Mancha in the back. Despite being airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
