On the night of August 22, 2023, at approximately 11 p.m., Red Oak Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of Troy Lane in Red Oak, Texas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 18-year-old Christian Claycomb suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and arms. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on August 23, 2023.
The investigation revealed that Claycomb and a companion were walking on Troy Lane, anticipati
ng a marijuana delivery they had arranged. Surveillance footage showed a black Dodge Charger approaching the pair; when Claycomb and his companion neared the vehicle, gunshots were fired from within, striking Claycomb. The Dodge Charger then fled the scene toward Cole Road.
At the crime scene, police recovered several pieces of evidence, including spent shell casings, a firearm, broken vehicle glass, loose marijuana, and a cell phone. Analysis of Claycomb's phone uncovered communications arranging a $150 marijuana purchase via Instagram and CashApp with an account named "Solo Glizzock." Further investigation linked this account to 22-year-old KamRon Wilson.
Detectives reviewed social media postings, recent arrest images, and Wilson's Texas driver's license, confirming his identity. Cell phone records placed Wilson's device in the vicinity of the crime scene at the time of the shooting. Additionally, a witness accompanying Claycomb that night provided a description matching Wilson. Consequently, on December 8, 2023, Red Oak Police arrested Wilson for murder, and he was booked into Ellis County Jail.
