On October 11, 2023, 35-year-old Fabian Hernandez was found with a gunshot wound on Avenue D in Hondo, Texas. First responders transported him to University Hospital in San Antonio, where he was pronounced dead.
Hondo police initiated a homicide investigation and recovered a firearm believed to be the weapon used in the shooting. A juvenile was taken into custody as a person of interest, though on an unrelated charge, and was transported to a juvenile detention facility.
