Daishawn Moore

Daishawn Moore, a 16-year-old, was tragically shot and killed on May 28, 2017, in Chicago's Lawndale neighborhood. He and a 16-year-old girl were walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle approached, and shots were fired at them. Moore was struck in the back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The young girl survived with a gunshot wound to the leg. Moore's death occurred amidst a spike in gun violence affecting the city's youth during that time.
